Seal Bay is hands down our favourite place to take friends and family when they visit Kangaroo Island with us.
We see something different every time we go.
Just 1 hour from Seascape Cottage, it makes a great day trip coupled with Bales Beach, KI Wildlife Park, Raptor Domain, Vivonne Bay, Little Sahara or KI Outdoor Action.
The beach tour is currently closed (August 2026. Check their website for updates), however, you can still do the boardwalk viewing which takes you right down to the platform on the beach.
Don't be us and think you will see seals at Admirals Arch and don't need to see these ones. Its completely different. It took me years to come and its a huge regret.

Kangaroo Island Ocean Safari departs daily from Christmas Cove Marina in Penneshaw, offering two tours along the island's coastline.
The 75-minute Ocean Safari cruises the coastline with the chance to spot dolphins, long-nosed seals, white-bellied sea eagles, pelicans, cormorants and other coastal birdlife.
The 2-hour Snorkelling Safari takes it further with the opportunity to get in the water and
Cape Willoughby Lighthouse sits on the easternmost tip of Kangaroo Island. With views of the surrounding dramatic and rugged coastline and views stretching across the backstairs passage to the mainland.
The area is one of the best spots on the island for kangaroo sightings.
Guided tours of the lighthouse run daily. The visitor centre has a museum and souvenirs.
